Taylor Wane is an English former adult performer, director and entrepreneur born on August 27, 1968 in Gateshead. She started in 1989 and is a member of three halls of fame: AVN (2005), Legends of Erotica (2007) and XRCO (2014).
Career
Her early work was quickly recognised: she won the 1992 AVN Award for Best Couples Sex Scene in a film (X Factor: The Next Generation) and was Penthouse Pet of the Month in June 1994. She was a regular in men’s magazines and had a monthly column in Busty Beauties, where she was also the November 2005 cover girl. That same year she began writing a monthly column for AVN Insider called “Wane’s World”.
Businesswoman and media personality
She founded Taylor Wane Entertainment in the mid-1990s and, with her husband, runs several websites and a photo agency. Other ventures include a sex-toy line launched in 2005, radio shows on Spice Radio and KSEX (including a weekly night show called The British Are Cumming) and a comic book series, Vamptrix, launched in 2003 and based on her.
She also picked up small roles in mainstream productions, among them Little Nicky, State of Play, Frost/Nixon and Nip/Tuck, and competed on ABC’s Winter Wipeout in 2011.
Charity work
In 2007, U.S. Navy SEALs stationed in Iraq flew an American flag for twenty-four hours in her honor, in thanks for the autographed pictures she had sent them. She later sold signed posters for the Disabled American Veterans foundation, and she has hosted benefits for breast-cancer awareness and cancer and AIDS research.
