Carter Cruise was born April 24, 1991 in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Cary, North Carolina. She was studying psychology and pre-law at East Carolina University when she left school in 2013 to pursue adult film full-time, debuting that August.
In 2015, she became only the second performer ever, after Jenna Jameson, to win both AVN Best New Starlet and Best Actress in the same year. She signed an exclusive contract with Axel Braun Productions in 2015 and was named by CNBC as one of porn’s 12 biggest stars in 2016.
